In ancient Greece, The Pythia was the high priestess of the Temple of Apollo at Delphi, known as the Oracle of Delphi. She served as a medium, delivering cryptic prophecies in response to questions from individuals and city-states. Chosen from local women, the Pythia entered a trance-like state and gave answers interpreted by spiritual leaders. Revered across the Greek world, her guidance was sought on matters of great cultural significance, making her one of the most influential spiritual figures of the ancient world.

The Pythia Collection

Today, The Pythia is a collection of collage art/found poetry channeled messages presented in visual form created by Grace Sanders.

In addition to being a psychotherapist, Grace is a visual artist, word maven, and truth-sayer. You will most always find her with either a pen or pair of scissors in her hand.

Her ability to view life as a puzzle cultivates her use of meditative doodling, collage, and found poetry as a way of expressing an open and collaborative conversation about the Experience of Being. The spirit of the conversation is to elicit a particular concept and feeling - quiet, contemplative, with an element of surprise. She draws upon her own word play techniques and rich symbolic language, translating it into and through the personal story. Her art is created with the playful and loving intention to articulate her own personal process and explore connections to a broader shared collective experience. Throughout her process, boundless inquiry is honored as a sacred impulse - a life force that excites us to ask, to explore, to open the doorway to awaken curiosity and wonder without conclusion. It is an openness that arises when the heart is no longer attached to a particular outcome and the uncertainty becomes not a threat but a homecoming. According to Grace, “the Magic is in the Medium. In the Source and the Sorcerer. In the material and the one who knows how to use the material.”
